About Us

Pulse is developed by Student Achievement Systems (SAS), an educational technology company founded in 2016. We launched Pulse in 2017 with the Berrien Springs Public Schools system in southwest Michigan. Since launching, Pulse has captured every single teacher communication, and every progress event every day for our clients and users.

Leadership Team

John Sorensen

John is a pioneer in the business management and automation software industry, and has expanded that expertise and leadership into developing other workflow automation solutions. John developed some of the most successful software products for the television industry, then went on to lead these software companies in management and CEO roles. He has accomplished everything from launching successful software startups to leading decades of profitable growth and managing acquisitions to turn-arounds. John was the founding board president for Success Virtual Learning Centers of Michigan, a successful blending learning school in western lower Michigan.

Chris Loiselle

Chris Loiselle began at Arthur Andersen LLP as a CPA and business consultant. He went on to Stafford Media Solutions as Business Manager, CFO, COO and finally CEO. During that time he helped transition the company from a newspaper publishing business to a publishing, printing and marketing consulting firm. 

Chris left in 2011 to pursue his dream of teaching at a university. He has taught business topics in several colleges and including Cornerstone University for 3 years. He also worked as CFO, and Chief Strategic Officer for Success Virtual Learning Centers and Berrien Springs Public Schools, where he is currently Director of Quality Assurance role.

Steve Falk

Steve joined Cable Computerized Management Systems (CCMS) as a Software Engineer in the television industry after receiving an education in Electronics. He rose through the ranks during his time at CCMS and Harris, landing in the role of Chief Technical Officer. Steve helped architect Harris’ next generation software application and performed due diligence for potential acquisitions. 

Steve has led the development of the next generation Student Performance and Management software application for Student Achievement Systems.
